Looking for internship in international NGO?

Job description:

At JCIM, we treat our interns like any other staff, meaning you will get to enjoy a variety of work (not just sit and do photocopy). You will be working closely with our National Board of Directors as well as our Secretariat Committee to:

  • Manage the secretariat operations and maintenance
  • Handle the operations and marketing of the training room rental, virtual office rental and shared office rental.
  • Assist in record management and financial recording
  • Assist in merchandise marketing and management
  • Assist in simple design work eg poster/flyer design
  • Assist in any events / programs hosted by JCI Malaysia
  • Handle any special projects assigned.

Location:

19-3, Jalan Setiawangsa 8, Taman Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur (nearby Taman Setiawangsa LRT station (about 1 km away)]. Free open carpark if you drive.

Working hours: 

You have to be flexible as per the needs of the organisation. Typical workday is Monday - Friday, 9am - 6pm, but when we have rental / meeting / events, you may need to work on weekends / at night. We will adjust accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Doing or completed diploma/degree.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and have own laptop.
  • Able to work independently and excel in task delivery.
  • Can take directions from multiple youth leaders simultaneously.
  • Have basic accounting knowledge and know how to use accounting software to do book-keeping and financial recording
  • Have basic design knowledge and video editing skills.
  • Have been involved with clubs and societies in uni and have experience doing event, fund raising, sales and marketing.
  • Able to speak and write in English and Malay.
  • Preferably have own transport or at least willing to relocate to stay at Setiawangsa or nearby area.
  • Flexible to work on weekends/nights when needed.

Vacancy for Secretariat Manager at JCI Malaysia HQ, Taman Setiawangsa KL.

Job Role:
Support JCI Malaysia operations in regards of administration, book keeping, secretariat management, supervision of interns, membership management, correspondence, fund raising and project management.

Requirements:
  • Minimum Diploma/Degree
  • Experience and passion serving in NGOs / Clubs and Societies during uni days / current
  • Have experience in project management, events and fund raising
  • Basic knowledge in accounting and book keeping
  • Able to speak, read and write well in English and Malay. Knowledge of Mandarin (an advantage).
  • Independent and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Pleasant and friendly personality. Enjoy working with active youth/young entrepreneurs.
  • Able to take and follow directions from various officers at one time.
  • Have own transport.  Preferably staying near to Taman Setiawangsa, KL 

Computer skills:
  • Must have own computer / laptop and internet connection at home.
  • Know how to use Microsoft excel/words and email efficiently.  
  • Preferably have basic knowledge in design software (Ai, photoshop, video editing)               
Work place: 
JCI Malaysia HQ at 19-3, Jalan Setiawangsa 8, Taman Setiawangsa, Kuala Lumpur.  (Just 5 LRT stops from KLCC)

Working hours:
Working in JCI Malaysia requires you to be flexible. Our standard hours are 9am – 6pm. However you may be required to work weekends during project / rental of our training space. 
In such case, then your working hours/days will be adjusted accordingly.
